PloneSchools Column Width

Posted by Beren Erchamion at August 05. 2007

I really like the PloneSchools skin! Great stuff - I'm thinking of using it on my site (hosted thru quinta at www.lebanonboro.com). I wanted to shrink the width of the right hand slot (with the calendar) so that the center content space could be larger. I figured out all the styles except one - the one that would widen the logo space in the header. How do I widen that? I'll check out the plone template to see if I can find it - so far I've just been poking in the CSS with Firebug.

Well I figured it out...there are a bunch of tags to move around, but the main thing I was missing was simple - just make the background bigger to widen the logo banner space.

Now I'm happy - I just need to resize the search box a bit.

Plone Schools skin is developed to allow easy basic customizations in usual Plone's way, like logo replacement, column width change. However if you want to change the width of right column you need to maintain search box, portal-top background and logo positioning, I think you see it yourself.

yeah I got it working ok. I did replace the text word search with a little magnifying glass  icon so that it would be a little smaller.
