qPloneComments-3.0.0 and accentuated characters ...

Posted by Yves Chaufour at April 10. 2008

Hi,

I've tried qPloneComments-3.0.0 with Plone-3.0.5 and can't have it working when my site is configured with french.

When I post some comment, I have an error message with "UnicodeEncodeError", and it's impossible to add comments !

I can reproduce this bug with all languages which contains accentuated characters.

I think it's a big problem that qPloneComments-3.0.0 can't work with all languages ...

I'm working at this problem now. I think to wednesday qPloneComments will support unicode characters. See about changes here

I've just tried it :

1- there's a bug in "published_comment_template.pt". It's missing a ">" a the end of line 5 ...

2- It's working with french !! Thanks a lot ...

3- I will try to complete french translations. I will send it later if you are interested in.
